The San Juan Quilters Guild Challenge.

This is a Challenge for our 2016 Quilt Show in October. The hope is to donate the final finished quilts to our local Veterans.
ABOUT SIZES:
A lap quilt should be at least 48″ x 60″ but could be larger if you like.  We generally like ours to be about 55″ x 65″ but if you have an unfinished top from a class you took and you’d like to finish it for this project — and it just happens to be twin size (72″ x 90″), no worries.  We’ll take it!  Or if you have a design you want to try and it’s going to come out wider and longer, don’t agonize — make it the way that seems right.

GUILDELINE FOR QUILT LABEL

Heading should read “Quilt of Honor”, Maker’s Name, Date, Name of Quilt, Recipient’s name, rank & branch of service

Bottom 2 lines should read: “Thank you for your Service” “San Juan Quilters Guild”

You can use charms or strips rather than blocks.
This is a patriotic project. Try to keep it Reds, Whites and Blues. Of course you can also include creams and Khaki. This doesn’t have to be really fancy, just heartfelt.  Let your own creativity be your guide!
I think this will be a great year of helping our local Veterans.
If you have any questions call Becki Dunham, Naedeen Bacon or Joanne Elliot .
