With the Holiday season behind us, now we can focus on our New Years’ resolutions.  What better way than to work on your UFO’s?   I know I need to work on mine.  If we had a survey of our members, I am quite sure I would have most!  I stopped counting them over ten years ago and I wouldn’t tell you how many I had if I did count them…….😃

So, bring your machine and a project to enjoy a day of sewing with your friends.  You’ve earned it!

For  lunch we will have pot luck with a focus on Salads and Desserts.

COMMUNITY SERVICE DECEMBER MEETING

Navajo Ministries will be our focus for the December meeting with donations of quilts and food for the children.  As a special Christmas donation we are asking you to bring snacks for their afterschool program and

non- perishable food stuffs. They house 20 children at any time and need to care for them.  The ages run from infant to 18 years of age so the needs change as children come and go from the mission.  If you have a quilt that needs a home we would like to add that to our donation as well.

Thank you for supporting Community Service throughout the years.  You have made a great difference in many lives in our community.  I hesitate to name all our great quilters and donors for fear of missing someone but you know who you are, so give yourself a great pat on the back for all your generosity, talent and hard work. You are the angels for many in need.

Community Service Chairperson, Patty Hanscom

COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK DAY

JANUARY 17, 2017

Brenda Bloomfield has graciously agreed to take over as Community Service Chair for 2017.  I know you will support her in her endeavors.  To give her a head start for the year we are having a work day to make kits for the start of our year.  Please join us at Patty Hanscom’s for a work day to make kits, organize fabric and generally get things off to a great start for 2017.  We will get started at 9 AM, Jan. 17th.  If you can come all or part of the day, please join us.  Lunch will be provided.  Bring your favorite rulers and cutters.  Everything else is here.

If you have a favorite pattern you would like to make for community service, please bring it and you can pull fabric for that pattern to take and make.

We also have some holiday fabrics that could be made into items for the boutique at the quilt show.  The silent auction/boutique committee would like more holiday specific items and we can help make that happen.

Please call Patty or sign up at the Dec. or Jan. meetings so there will be enough food and space for all.

Thank you. See you on Jan. 17, 2017.  Happy New Year.
